  Thanks - I remember first reading of that extraordinary feat in Reader&#039;s Digest (of all places) in my younger years.  Captured my imagination, it did -- and still does.  One of the reasons the SPAD will remain a favorite of mine through the ages (well, besides being a PROP plane too!).  Great book that recollects the memories of a carrier SPAD pilot is &quot;Gold Wings, Blue Seas&quot;  One of the books that put my feet on the path to Naval Aviation...
