Northrop-Grumman With Inside Track on Next-Gen Bomber?

May 27th, 2008 by User ImageSteeljawscribe

N-G NGB

At a cool (and covert) $2B, N-G’s Integrated Technology division has been funded to build a demonstrator which may be a twin-engine aircraft resembling an X-47B according to this AW&ST article released today  . There is some discussion that an extended range, unmanned bomber will follow based on knowledge gained from the secret-demonstrator, but that runs counter to the discussion here   (where the AF has said the next-gen bomber will carry nukes).

Oh, and how LO is this LO for the demonstrator supposed to be? How about an RCS of -70 dB./sq. meter — one-thousandth of the -40 dB. associated with the JSF, and one-tenth that of a mosquito. Literally a gnat’s ass…
