I was at Wakkanai Air Station in Japan... in "unaccompanied" status. Friends and I watched the broadcast on NHK and didn't catch most of the commentary, as the Japanese announcers were translating in "real time" and talking over the NASA feed. But this was an event where commentary was almost superfluous... such a stupendous event, and one that made us proud we're Americans. I remember this event very well.
