A Prayer Request — for a Prayer Warrior

If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. – Matthew  17:20

Sarah is one of those altogether rare folk that aptly fit the description “prayer warrior.”  In the almost seven years that we have known her and her husband, Bob, we continue to be amazed and blessed by her deep faith and daily blessing.  Encouraging, prodding, challenging – she is always putting the Lord first and doing what she can to bring others to know Him.  We have learned much about faith and perseverance in our time with her and Bob.  If we could be so bold as to ascribe a particular verse to her, it would be the passage from Matthew above, her faith is so strong.

And today, this amazing woman of faith needs our help.

Battling a very rare form of cancer for the last three years, she is in the hospital today awaiting a surgical decision and action that will enable her to undergo a very difficult course of chemotherapy.  In our visits with her of late, even as tired and obviously in pain as she was, she always brightened to see you.  She always had a passage (or two, or three…) and a prayer for you, and never mind her condition.

Today it is our turn and we ask that in your comings and goings today that you lift her up in prayer, along with Bob, their son (who is deployed to Iraq through next spring) and daughter as well as the surgical staff.  For wisdom, strength and healing mercies — and especially peace.  Because, as Matthew later writes:

19 Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. – Matthew 18:19-20

Because this, we know from our own experience, is true – and we believe.

Thank you and God Bless…
