NNWof Guadalcanal. I remember when our C.O. radioed Henderson, on the canal, that we were being harassed by a Jap 'Betty' and they sent a P38 up to deal with it. That '38' pilot put on quite a show for us, chopping that bomber into little pieces, before he used his 20MM cannon to 'deep-six' it.The next day we convinced a PT Skipper that we knew exactly where it went down, and, he took us out to see if there was any salvage we could get, but there was'nt any. Thank you for the confirmed information on the day of the death of Yamamoto. After all, he was the master-mind behind the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7 1941.
