Flag Officer Announcements

 Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

 Navy Adm. Gary Roughead has been nominated for reappointment to the grade of admiral and assignment as chief of naval operations, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.Roughead is currently serving as commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

 Navy Rear Adm. Carl V. Mauney has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.Mauney is currently serving as director, Submarine Warfare Division, N87, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
