"All I asked for was a chance to win…"
“…I didn’t ask for a win…”
“That’s what I love about this sport — it’s hard,” Martin said. “It’s what’s driven me for over 30 years. That’s what I love about it and that’s why I’m here. I had the choice of whether or not I wanted to race the Daytona 500. I wanted a chance. I wanted a shot at it, and these guys gave me a shot.”
Almost Mark…almost. Heck of a race you ran and consumate class in the post race interviews. Mark Martin is a double entry in the dictionary — under “class” and “racer”

That was one heck of a race. I’m not a big racing guy, and I’m definitely not a NASCAR fan, but I happened to be over at a friend’s place who is and caught the last 50 laps. Glad I did. The last wreck with the Jack 07 car finishing on its roof was nuts.
And second what you said about Mark Martin. I got caught up a little bit on his backstory from some of the commentators, sounded like one heck of a story.
