Christmas Lights
One of our long-standing family traditions we have had to forego since moving to Occupied Territory from Hampton Roads some few years back was the drive down to the carrier and destroyer-sub piers at the Norfolk Naval Base after evening service on Christmas Eve. There we’d see all manner of creative talent put to display, some indigenous, some hired, in the annual competition for the best and brightest, as it were…
Absent that, here are some examples from around the fleet this year for your viewing pleasure:
While there are all manner of adjectives one could, and does, apply to our ships throughout the year, when decked out with lights from bow to stern at Christmas only one comes to mind………beautiful.
I hope that all the Christmas wishes of you and your family came true, sir. Thank you for the accompanying photographs.
The picture of Blue Ridge with Fuji san in the background is very rare-its tough to see Fuji san except at Sunrise and only on a perfect day from that point of view.
You should have seen Blue Ridge lit up this year! The Captain told his folks he was the Tim Taylor of ship decoration. There was no such thing as too many lights! The ship looked awesome! 😀
Those are last years pix of BLR and KHK by the way………. 😕
